Ski patrol's version of a staff meeting

The fun thing about ski patrolling in New Zealand is that the rescue systems are a bit more intense and technical. We rely heavily on the assistance from helicopters and so we train accordingly. This a picture of strop flying. We use this for off road accidents and remote on hill patient response. We can tie a stretcher onto the system as well.

Apart from sky diving, this is absolutely the coolest thing I have ever done.

If a lift breaks down, we are trained to self evacuate and ride the cable in a "flying fox" technique to evacuate the public.
