We don't know if it was the Pavlova we had for dessert on Sunday night, or the earthquake that rumbled through at about 9:30 that evening (about 10 km southwest of Methven registering 3.4), but things were able to take place naturally instead of having to go through induction on Monday morning. Labour went quite quickly (thank goodness) and with very few complications. The few that we did have, were well taken care of. He spent the first few hours of life in an incubator to keep him warm and get his respirations back up, but we are thankful for the little bundle we have been blessed with.
Charlie has a very calm temperament and loves to snuggle. He is settling in well, sleeping and eating. Ernie is trying to cope with a new addition to the pack. He supervises the nappy changes and checks in during the night with a cold nose just to let us know he is still there. Courtney is the master of the quick nappy change and keeping the fire lit throughout the night. Mum is catching up on sleep as much as she can and is doing great!

Life is good at the Wiedel household!
