Weekend Trip to Tekapo

Last weekend we decided to get away to Lake Tekapo for a few nights.  School holidays were almost up and we needed a family vacation before the craze of the winter begins.  We stayed at a friend's accommodation called Lake Tekapo Cottages.  He even gave us the Honeymoon Suite!!  Whoa, life sure is different with kids!! :0)
Tekapo has a new hot pools and ice rink facility.  Since Charlie loves the water we thought we would try it.  The pool we stayed in was 36 degrees centigrade.  It was just like a bath!  We could have stayed there all day.  I wish we had our camera, especially the video, to show you how well he is doing under water.  Courtney lets go and he doesn't mind a bit!  He comes up smiling.

No family trip is complete without a fishing trip.  

Charlie loves the backpack and travels quite well.  He enjoys sucking on the rubber strap just in front of him.  It passes the time nicely. 

Although we didn't see many fish, we both hooked a few with reasonable size.  Jen did catch the few bait fish that ended up behind her with her back cast, but that's okay. This was the reward for the day.
