Part of the fun in New Zealand is the new and different things that we get to do. Our friends, Kem and Mary, own a farm just outside of town. We were asked to feed their dogs while they were away and tend to the chickens and the garden. It was a great experience playing with farm dogs for one, but also going into the chicken coop and stealing eggs. It reminded Jen of the fast food commercial back home with the karate instructor and the little chicken developing his "little kick". We got 15 or more eggs a day!! We aren't going hungry here in NZ. :0) You can see that Jen has a new pair of gumboots. Great for the rain and wet!
Kem and Mary are the local organic farmers. They provide the majority of the veggies to the local restaurants and cafes. We were lucky to be able to tend to the garden while they were away. YUMMY!

Jen looks like she fits right in, in that chicken coop. And what better way to say Happy Easter when collecting eggs. That coop looks just about the size of the place we are looking for, come December when Jer retires, as Martiza says" He is not going to live with us all the time is he?"..HA. broke the record for snow ithis year in Steamboat All time record, we have received 450" we will see our yard in July, yet construction on the roof over the deck begins in 10 days they are going to come and shovel. Send photos of the new house. Take care ...Love the Wiedels in Steamboat
