We are thrilled that fishing season is here again. October 1st to May 1st in most places. Check out the first fish of the season!! Here's hoping there are many more like that throughout the season. The new fishing regulations are banning felt soled boots in all waterways in NZ. Something called didymo (what Courtney calls "Rock Snot") has evolved in the rivers which spreads very quickly. We have to treat our fishing gear after each river. Once the weather warms up a bit it wont be a problem due to wet wading. If you are planning to visit NZ in the near future you might want to check the rules and regs prior to arriving.
