We have just returned from a week away on Australia's Sunshine Coast. What a beautiful place! We had never been to Australia in all the times we have visited this part of the world so decided to go for a quick getaway. 4 days of golf and relaxation at the pool or the beach was well needed.

One thing we were impressed with was the wildlife. You hear so much about Australia and the animals that can kill you. No one seems to mention the immense and beautiful bird life.

Pukekos EVERYWHERE!!!! Courtney was happy. Our first time seeing baby pukies too. Kind of fun.

Played golf alongside the kangaroos. They didn't seem to be bothered by the golfers. Kind of like the elk in the mountains. This one, however, decided to beat it's chest as Jen got a bit too close. Actually, I think it was just scratching fleas.

One of our day trips included the Australia Zoo, home of Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter. What an impressive facility! Animals that most have never seen before and the well known "Crocosseum" where they do the crocodile shows. Steve Irwin's wife and kids still put on the daily shows. It is amazing how close they get to these animals. The bird above is a Cassowary. HUGE bird and very interesting history.

All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed hanging out on the Sunshine Coast and would recommend it to anyone! Great resorts for families, and ones that suit the couples getaway. Maybe we can meet up with you there sometime. Love to everyone.
